Fake us money??

How come in America you never hear about counterfeit money?? does counterfeit bills happen in the US??
how come other countries have lots of counterfeit money??
Answers:
The new American notes are designed to reduce counterfeits. The non colourful notes, two colour, were easily counterfeited and contained almost no anti-counterfeit methods. This was a big problem with thousands of dollars being counterfeited without any problems. The newer notes have been designed to make it more complicated to counterfeit them.
Most other countries have being using anti-counterfeit methods in there money for decades and so the counterfeit rates are lower than in America.

There are coubnterfeit bills in the US - even the new ones.
The most recent ones I've seen are counterfeit $100's of the new type of bill. They even are printed on paper that reacts to those pens they use to check for counterfeits.
Usually bills $20 and smaller are the ones they target for counterfeiting. Larger bills usually get scrutinized too well.

At a former job, my mngr. pinned two 5s to the wall saying they were counterfeit. I took a better look and offered to trade for $10. I saw this in another store and was told he couldn't sell it. The bills were dated 1950's. They were still legal tender they just had a different look.
