FBI Question can a person be charged with statuary rape with no DNA and no evidence?

Answers:
Statutory rape is a state crime -- not a federal crime.
The FBI would not be involved.
And yes, DNA evidence is not the only way to establish the elements of statutory rape -- there are many other ways, such as witnesses, medical evidence of intercourse, etc.
First how old are you, how old are they and yes. Even if there is consent, if the parents try it hard enough and have a good lawyer, then yes.
Yes but then it becomes a "he said she said" type of thing. It would be hard to prove without DNA, witness testimony etc.
yes.
They can be CHARGED with the crime without evidence, but they can't be CONVICTED of the crime without any evidence (unless they plead guilty).
A credible witness IS evidence.
No, this country is about evidence and DNA. If there nothing that can prove them guilty then all they can do is detain him until they can find something, if nothing is found then he is released. Heck some murders and rapers are proven guilty with evidence and they get only 5 years.
speaking of evidence and DNA look at Duke Lacross and the great DA Nifong
You can be charged with anything but if there is no evidence the judge will hopefully throw it out. If it does go on with no evidence you shouldnt be convicted
sure
Our legal system can/will do things like this because they can/will get away with it. They will BANKRUPT you whether you are guilty or not. This problem needs to be corrected by our govt. but it never will. If we were able to hold them responsible for such actions there would be very few innocent people behind bars. It is sad to think that some people will plead guilty, even though they are not, just because of the cost and time, of fighting it. Are you willing to put your life in the hands of 12 jurors who know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about the law? Ever hear how mad someone gets when they are called for jury duty? These people have to suspend their employment and accept a paycheck that amounts to less than $200 a week, unless things have changed. The more time you spend in court the larger the court costs will be. That FREE attorney that they speak of is a BOGUS theory. I had one many moons ago. Rather than being free, his fees were added into my fines and court costs. You are naive if you believe there is anything proper about our legal system. If you have been targeted by a legal entity of any sort, you are basically SCREWED!! I guarantee that you and your family are about to be educated on the tactics of the legal system. It's a shame that you must be a victim in order to see and understand the way things are.
